We helped clarify the Foundation’s philanthropic identity and supported its mission across Southern Africa.
Project Type: Website Design & Development
Project Overview
The challenge
The Allan Gray Orbis Foundation in Eswatini, Botswana, and Namibia needed a website that more accurately reflected its mission, programmes, and philanthropic identity. The previous site was outdated, difficult to navigate, and frequently confused with Allan Gray Limited Namibia, a distinction the Foundation was working to clarify.
With initiatives like the Allan Gray Fellowship Programme and the Allan Gray Entrepreneurship Challenge, the Foundation needed a clearer structure, more consistent messaging, and a user experience that could better guide learners, educators, and partners to relevant opportunities.
The solution
We redesigned the Foundation’s website with a focus on clarity, accessibility, and alignment with its mission. Starting with an updated site map, we restructured the content to support clearer user journeys, helping learners, parents, educators, and ecosystem partners find relevant information easily.
To define the visual tone, we created moodboard concepts, with the chosen direction guiding the layout, headings, and interface design. We refined messaging throughout the site using a mix of existing content and updated material from the Foundation, aligning it to the new structure and page flow.
These updates helped simplify access to key initiatives, clarify programme information, and create a more consistent and user-focused experience.
The result
The redesigned website gave the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation a more coherent and accessible digital platform, one that better reflects its purpose, values, and offering. By addressing long-standing issues around identity confusion, the new site clearly positions the Foundation as a philanthropic organisation focused on education and entrepreneurship across Eswatini, Botswana, and Namibia.
Navigation has been streamlined to guide users to the right information, whether they are learners exploring opportunities, parents supporting their children’s applications, or educators seeking ways to get involved.
With a consistent tone, updated content, and a structure built to scale, the website is now better equipped to support the Foundation’s outreach, engagement, and programme delivery, both now and as its work continues to grow.
